Hear a Synth Demo of "I Saw Three Ships Come Fiddling In"
The following sound clip is a rough but possibly helpful representation of this piece. It's a synthesized realization of a piano reduction I made of the piece. Even though this clip is quite rough and lacks the subtlety and colorful orchestration of the actual piece, I'm hoping it can nevertheless give you some sense of the flavor and energy of "I Saw Three Ships Come Fiddling In."

I'm very excited about this newest addition to my holiday pops repertoire. "I Saw Three Ships Come Fiddling In" is a fun and boisterous jig-like arrangement of "I Saw Three Ships," and it features the violin section in almost non-stop motion as they dance their way through the piece.
For the most part, the orchestration is light and colorful, with the exception of the opening, middle, and ending sections, which are larger-sounding and help give shape to the piece. Two additional carols in 6/8 time make brief appearances in the piece ("Here We Come A-Wassailing" and "We Three Kings").
This piece is being premiered by the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra this December.
